Part of this is that the number of commander-only staples has pushed a lot of non-commander cards out of the format*. I remember when the power level 7+ options for monored could be counted on two hands.Īt the same time, the ethos of the format has shifted to allow for less creativity in general. We do have more viable mechanical strategies. Speaking as someone who's largely played randos in Commander instead of working with a playgroup, I think Maro is technically right. Just like the Sisay's Rings of the world becoming obsolete would have eventually happened even without Commander focused design. It's one of those things that I think would have happened eventually. I guess if they really wanted to make these guys suck in Commander, they could have made them target an opponent or something? But other than that it doesn't seem like a natural consequence of Commander oriented design. Generally speaking it's an effect that happens to be very good in Commander and it will always attract their attention when you print more of it. Did I miss one? I guess there is Slum Reaper, but since it costs more mana and that makes this type of effect worse, it never saw that much play. And then they made Demon's Disciple, which walks back from Plaguecrafter a bit in a way that seems fine. Plaguecrafter is a noticeable upgrade, but still small enough that it seems reasonable, especially without the useful Zombie typing. Merciless Executioner is a straight up clone, but it was only the second one ever, so it seemed fine. I'm not really a fan of it myself, but when you look at the order they were made, it seems hard to pick a point where making a card like that was clearly a bad idea. r/magicTCG is not produced, endorsed, supported by, or affiliated with Wizards of the Coast. Obviously he is stronger than anyone in that world. Why can he can handle the Hashirama Cells?Īt this state, Naruto is a very strong person: he has his Kurama's power, he has the Six Path Power, and he also knows how to use Sage mode. They are scared this case will happen with Might Guy. At this state, Danzo is already very weakened.Īs you can see with the red rectangle mark I have placed, this is the explanation for why Might Guy does not have his legs back. Remember Danzo? His body also implemented the Hashirama Cells, but in the fight between Danzo and Sasuke, he needed to cut off his own arm in order to not let the cells devour him. (Only their hands were gone, not their entire bodies.) Just like said, Might Guy's body was totally destroyed and even almost died after the fight with Madara, unlike Sasuke and Naruto. If we force Might Guy to implement the Hashirama Cells, the consequences will be the same as Danzo. Currently Might Guy's body is not compatible with the Hashirama Cells because his body is not strong as before. Implementing the Hashirama Cells has his own risk. If we want to create a leg for Might Guy, this means that his body needs to strong enough to handle the Hashirama Cells. So why does Tsunade still not create a leg for Might Guy?
